About the film:
'Clara Berta: An Artist’s Journey' is a tender short documentary that explores the indomitable human spirit and the healing power of art. Clara Berta was born in a Hungarian enclave in Transylvania, which was a part of Communist Romania. Later, her family was reunited in America.
Berta’s life is a testament to resilience and reinvention. Beyond her diverse roles as a model, actress, and comedian, Clara’s true passion lies in abstract art. Her breathtaking renditions of the ocean and water stand unrivalled in the realm of abstract artistry. Throughout her adult life, Clara has endured the profound loss of not just one, but two loved ones - her late husband and her fiancé of 9.5 years, Sandy. Set in the aftermath of Sandy’s recent passing, this documentary dives into Clara’s journey of grief and how the interplay of art and life has served as her guiding light, enabling her to triumph over loss.
Directed by Ayrton Carrazco.
